I love the feeling when I taste pumpkin pie as I the smell of warm apple cider with a bit of cinnamon and orange. I treasure seeing the beautiful leaves on the trees before the fall for winter. The sound of laughter and conversations is music to my ears when I'm at gatherings of family and friends.
Fall has always been my favorite season for many reasons. It is just so beautiful, delicious, and fun.
I've missed this a lot, being here in Toledo. It doesn't feel like fall even though the temperatures have dropped. There aren't many trees with leaves showing off their brilliant color. There is no pumpkin pie, cookies, cereal, ice cream, etc.
When Paige and I went to Heidelberg, Germany, I was reminded of how much I adore this season. The trees there are so beautiful during the fall. The colors are so bright and exciting.
I am thankful for the beautiful fall trees. They show how just how amazing of an artist God is. These stunning trees also reveal that falling can be a good thing because the Spring is on its way. Yeah, there is winter that is coming with it's cold and lack of harvest, but look toward the flowers and sunshine in the Spring. The beauty found in the leaves now points to the beauty that awaits after the cold. The leaves tell us, "I am leaving soon, but don't lose hope, for you will find me again after the winter."
