eleven- Bama Wesley

Yesterday, in my Art of Reading Literary Texts class, my professor said that the Latin root of the word, "inspiration", is the same root of the word, "spirit", meaning that inspiration comes from the soul and breath, not the mind. I immediately thought of the word "pneuma", appeared in Greek a lot in the Bible to talk about the Holy Spirit. We talked about that a ton at Bama Wesley, including the "Dear Wormwood" foundation study, Worship team, and a few sermons about Ezekiel 37.

I thought it was incredible that this made me think of Bama Wesley because I had just finished watching a sermon from a service we have on Wednesday nights on Youtube. Watching the sermons makes me miss Bama Wesley, but even more, it makes me thankful for them. I'm just so thankful that I get to watch these sermons. Yeah, I miss them so much. But what if I didn't have that to miss? What if there wasn't a community of believers waiting to embrace me when I come home? I get to look forward to many good times with the friends I have there, and that's exciting.

What a bittersweet sentence... I still cannot believe I am here, living in Toledo, Spain, studying literature and eating authentic paella and Spanish tortilla de patatas.  Last night, Álvaro and I went to the church of the Jesuitas. His friend was going to be singing there, so he invited us to come. After getting some delicious croquettes and walking in the rain, we went to the church to see what it was about.   It...
